Pallet Flow Racking, also called gravity or dynamic flow systems are high density pallet storage systems using depth to increase capacity. Pallet Flow Racking uses a slightly inclined rail with rollers that allow pallets to move easily along the sloped plane. The pallet flow system often has complex motion and braking systems to control the speed of the moving pallet.
Used as either a FIFO (first in, first out) or LIFO (last in, last out) steel racking storage system. When used for a FIFO storage system it is loaded from the back and unloaded from the front and if used as a LIFO system, it is loaded and unloaded from the front.
The above example is dynamic storage solution with order picking tunnel and overhead pallet reserves. The flow storage lanes provide a large picking face and can be used for all standard goods. Pallets are transported by gravity on various types of roller and wheel tracks through the dynamic storage system.
